For Immediate Release: Today, May 4, 2011, fashion editors from Elle, InStyle, People StyleWatch and The New York Times Style Magazine, as well as media experts from Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr and retailers from Gilt Groupe and Neiman Marcus, will convene at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall for the inaugural Fashion140 conference.

Presenting the fashion industry with a rare opportunity to come together and openly discuss their ideas and experiences, Fashion140 aims to raise awareness of the importance of social media and technological advancements.  By opening this discussion at Lincoln Center to the entire style-driven community, the conference will take social media out of the executive boardroom and directly incorporate it into the fashion business.  For more information and to view live stream coverage of the event, please visit

Fashion Lincoln Center was created to help finance programs and activities aimed at supporting New York City’s design community. A council of industry professionals and innovative thinkers offer advice in this unique initiative. One priority of FLCI is to assist talented and promising designers as they enter the fashion industry. The council will provide guidance regarding a wide variety of fashion events year round, as well as offer Lincoln Center staff an “inside-look” at the business of style and design. FLCI will contribute to strengthening one of New York City’s seminal sources of energy, creativity and commerce, and expand Lincoln Center’s own fashion programming.
Fashion140, founded in 2011 by Lilly Berelovich and Jeff Pulver, is a collaborative inquiry into how the real time web and social media are reshaping the fashion industry. For more information, please visit www.fashion140.com and follow us on Twitter: @fashion140
