Pasadena Gets First West Coast Flagship Store for OSKA, Munich Designer and Retailer

OSKA, Munich Designer and Retailer, Opens First West Coast Flagship Store In Old Pasadena, CA - the Second in the US

OSKA Presents Casual Elegance and European Sophistication To Southern California Women

November 15, 2011 - Pasadena, CA - On Friday, November 11th, OSKA, an upscale international women's garment line, celebrated the grand opening of its second U.S. retail store with a festive party. The event was attended by scores of guests.

Nestled in the charming One Colorado shopping plaza in Old Town Pasadena, OSKA Pasadena offers comfort, elegance, sophistication, and sustainability with its Autumn/Winter 2011 Collection, just in time for the changing Southern California season.

According to Kelsey Farris, director of OSKA Pasadena, OSKA chose Old Pasadena for its first West coast location because the community is sophisticated, with an array of specialty shops, such as wonderful eateries, hatters, chocolatiers and even a dog bakery! "The space itself has a loft-like feel that is the perfect canvas for the OSKA collection," added Farris.

Perfect for Southern California weather, OSKA's signature winter fabrics, including luxurious knits and the softest washed boiled wool, are presented in rich pistachio green, burnt orange, and ruby-red tones, with soft, V-shaped silhouettes. Statement fabrics, such as black-and-white bouclé and mohair moulinés, add eccentricity to the mix.

Contemporary shaped tunics, masculine-influenced trousers, and a variety of knitwear headline this cozy collection, while sharp-fitted asymmetric jackets, vests, and coats add interest to layered styles. A colorful range of knitted, textured, checkered, and striped scarves, funky boiled wool hats, and quirky pins complete the picture for the autumn/winter OSKA wardrobe.

According to Annie Frank, store manager and merchandiser, the OSKA woman is sophisticated and well-traveled. She is looking for fashion-forward, unique but comfortable pieces with a European boutique feel that can take her from the office to the theater. While she wants clothes that coordinate, she does not want them to match perfectly. She may be looking for casual yet elegant building blocks or to add just that perfect tomato-colored or chartreuse signature piece that will elevate and add pizzazz to her existing wardrobe. "My favorite customer understands investment dressing, and wants to look unique, finished and fabulous in pieces that are timeless," says Frank.

Both Farris and Frank hope to have OSKA Pasadena very involved in the community and as a place to host many events.

OSKA Pasadena is located at 13 Douglas Alley, in One Colorado, Old Pasadena, CA 91103. The store hours are Monday - Saturday 10 - 7 and Sunday 12 - 5, with a 24-hour online store at www.oska-pasadena.com.
