MARIA ARISTIDOU

Semi Couture Presentation

Fall-Winter 2017-2018

during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week

Maria Aristidou Couture Autumn/Winter 2017-18

Once upon a time there was a story,
an inspiration behind Maria Aristidou Autumn/Winter 2017- 2018 womens wear collection to tell ...
"Belle âme - a beautiful soul"
A story of a woman that is united no matter the difficulties, the setbacks, the ups and downs, no matter the color, the religion, the beliefs, women can conquer the world.
"Belle âme" is flooded with a playground of knit patterns, cozy wool's and metallic yarns. Elaborate embroideries create luxurious beaded fields in the designs for the women today, whereas, soft curves with unexpected details and sleek cuts,
manifest the beauty and the elegance of this womenswear collection for day or night.

The power of Love, the Care, the Beauty and the Wisdom of a Woman is the rebirth of
"a beautiful soul".

So here it is, saying to you that my press release for Maria Aristidou Autumn/Winter 2017- 2018
"Belle âme - a beautiful soul"
is an outcry for all of us to be
AS ONE, ONE LOVE, ONE UNIT
because we are valuable, we matter,
we deserve to live every moment in this precious life.

THE COLLECTION: Vivienne Tam presented her Autumn/Winter 2016 collection on February 15, 2015 at 7:00pm in the Arc at Moynihan Station during New York Fashion Week.  The collection is inspired by a timeless cultural dreamland that is a mélange of influences from different cultures spanning the Chinese Western frontier to Central Asia and the Caucuses, along the new economic and cultural trade route comprising the modern day 'Silk Road'.  Drawing upon indigenous cultures from Xinjiang, Kazakhstan, all the way to Turkey and Russia, this culture-bridging approach makes for a harmonious mosaic that is the main theme of the collection.  The collection features patterns and patchwork derived from traditional talismans - from protective amulets expressing a mother's love symbolized by triangles but contemporized on techno-mesh, to caroqs with evil eye patchwork made from recycled fabric, to embroidered dowry suzanis and even a nod to American quilts.  Embroideries of parasol flowers and medallions are rendered on luxe textiles such as ultra-suede, wool, leather, silk and sequins, as well as patchwork leather, lightly quilted jacquards and needle punched fabrics. Chunky knits and modified 'sweatshirts' reminiscent of hand-crafted tapestries were paired with lamé pleated skirts on a fresh take on ancient patterns and ikat textiles.  The collection embodies a contemporary contextualization of traditional shapes that are characteristic of various cultures, expressed in relaxed silhouettes, jacquard rendered capes, robe-like coats, leather-trimmed coats, long tunics over striped oversized trousers, gaucho pants and dropped shoulders. The palette is a rich, earth toned one featuring deep burgundies, siennas, reds and greens, as well as deep blacks and burnished pewter and bronze metallics.

Ralph Lauren Hosts Ben Stiller, Kendall Jenner, Ciara & More For World's First Ever 4D Fashion Show

To mark Ralph Lauren Corporation's first Polo flagship store at 711 Fifth Avenue in New York City, celebrity guests including Ben Stiller, Kendall Jenner, Ciara & Anna Wintour attend the world's first 4D fashion show. Held in Central Park, Ralph Lauren’s new Polo line for women presented its Spring’15 collection during New York Fashion Week in a revolutionary runway event: a water-screen projection that towered above Manhattan’s Central Park, fusing fashion, art and technology. Hundreds of spectators, including celebrities, famous runway faces and fashion editors, gathered on the Cherry Hill lawn on the west side of the park for a sensory experience that uses innovative technology that could forever change the landscape for a fashion show. Ralph Lauren Polo models – appearing like beautiful mirages using four-story-tall holographic effects – wore outfits embracing the eclectic spirit of the brand, mixing the edge of New York and Paris, and the sunset colours and patterns of the Adirondacks. The event celebrates the first Ralph Lauren Polo flagship at 711 Fifth Avenue in New York City. Spanning nearly 38,000 square feet over three floors, the new Polo flagship is the first store to unveil the complete new world of Polo for women, and the first store to showcase women’s Polo alongside the Polo men’s collection. The new store also introduces Ralph Lauren’s first-ever coffee shop, Ralph’s Coffee. This store will be one of many Polo stores planned to open worldwide in the coming years, in line with Ralph Lauren’s strategic pipeline of new stores.
