GREY GOOSE CREATES EXTRAORDINARY ‘TASTE OF SPACE’ COCKTAILS TO CELEBRATE GREY GOOSE AND VIRGIN GALACTIC PARTNERSHIP

GREY GOOSE®, the world’s leading super premium vodka, has created two new cocktail serves which explore the taste of space on the senses. The GREY GOOSE Taste of Space Cocktails celebrate the pioneering partnership between GREY GOOSE and Richard Branson’s commercial spaceline Virgin Galactic® which has been formed from a shared ideology that extraordinary achievement comes from acting on your beliefs.

The GREY GOOSE Galactic Martini Cocktail and GREY GOOSE Beyond the Clouds Cocktail have been specially created to explore the intriguing notion of the ‘taste of space’. While no one knows for sure, astronomers have speculated that space might taste like raspberries, having discovered in 2009 that Ethyl Formate, the compound widely reported as having the aroma of fruits such as raspberries, is also present in space.

The GREY GOOSE Taste of Space Cocktails have been crafted to celebrate the astrobiologists’ findings. And in response to the commonly reported fact that the astronauts’ sense of taste and smell are dulled in space by weightlessness, GREY GOOSE has incorporated spicy fresh black peppercorns, as well as raspberries, to heighten the taste profile of the cocktails.“The fresh black pepper pairs perfectly with the slightly sweet and a touch of anise taste profile of GREY GOOSE,” explains Joe McCanta, GREY GOOSE Global Ambassador.

The GREY GOOSE Galactic Martini Cocktail and GREY GOOSE Beyond the Clouds Cocktail will be available to experience at leading partner bars and nightclubs across the world.

GREY GOOSE Galactic Martini Cocktail

Made with GREY GOOSE and a touch of Alsatian framboise eau de vie, the GREY GOOSE Galactic Martini Cocktail features a distinctive ritual, where the bartender dramatically ‘throws’ it four times and then garnishes it with three raspberries dusted with black pepper to give it the taste of space.Throwing is a classic technique dating to the late 1700s and mid-1800s used to aerate a cocktail. It involves mixing the drink by passing it from one mixing glass to the other from as high as possible, creating a mesmerizing arc of liquid. This ritual is done deliberately exactly four times to represent the climb from 50,000 - 400,000 feet that the Virgin Galactic ship makes in exactly 90seconds at four times the speed of sound.

GREY GOOSE Beyond The Clouds Cocktail

The GREY GOOSE Beyond the Clouds Cocktail is specially designed by expert mixologist and Global GREY GOOSE Brand Ambassador Joe McCanta to be served in top partner bars and select nightclubs. The ritual of the serve is based on the notion of astronauts flying beyond the clouds. Served in rocks glass featuring an image of Earth from space affixed to the base and containing a single ice orb, the cocktail is covered with Elthyl Formate and dry ice. This creates a ‘cloud’ as the dry ice sublimates which is then parted as 50mls of GREY GOOSE vodka is poured, topped with raspberry juice and freshly cracked black pepper. GREY GOOSE has demonstrated once again what can be achieved when flying beyond the norm and has pushed the boundaries of molecular mixology by using the food grade Ethyl Formate compound within the cocktail itself, rather than deconstructing the molecules.

GREY GOOSE Taste of Space Cocktail Recipes

The GREY GOOSE Galactic Martini Cocktail is thrown four times for a dramatic, Virgin Galactic inspired ritual.

10 ml Noilly Prat dry vermouth
5 ml Alsatian framboise eau de vie (40% ABV)
1 lemon twist
3 raspberries on a GREY GOOSE pick

Method

Chill glass. Add GREY GOOSE vodka, vermouth and raspberry eau de vie. Throw 4 times. Strain and zest and discard the lemon. Garnish with raspberries, slightly sprinkled with cracked pepper.

The GREY GOOSE Beyond the Clouds Cocktail is specially designed to be created by expert mixologists and served in leading partner bars and nightclubs.

Ingredients
60 ml GREY GOOSE vodka – chilled
125 ml Raspberry Juice
Pinch of cracked black pepper
50 ml of water with 3-4 drops of food grade Ethyl Formate
1 Ice Ball

Method
Add Ice ball to glass. If using a cloud pourer fill the base with water and food grade Ethyl Formate. Fill capsule with dry ice. Pour food grade Ethyl Formate Cloud into glass and let hover. Ritually, pour the chilled GREY GOOSE through the cloud to part it. Top with Raspberry Juice and freshly cracked black pepper (from a peppermill)

GREY GOOSE will toast the new era of space with these exceptional celebratory cocktails.

With the Nokia Lumia 1020, “you’ve got it”. That’s the verdict of David Bailey and Bruce Weber, two of the world’s best-known photographers, who used the 41 megapixel Nokia Lumia 1020 in a unique collaboration to capture the spirit and soul of Harlem, New York.

Nokia has today released nearly 60 photos from the pair’s photoshoot in Harlem, which demonstrates that the Nokia Lumia 1020 is the perfect camera to help people capture the moment in unrivalled detail, and with ease.

The stunning photos are available to view at The Nokia Photography Room and are currently being exhibited at the Nicholls & Clarke Building in Shoreditch, East London.  A video featuring Mr Weber and Mr Bailey on the shoot will be shown at the exhibition.

Mr Bailey said: “The Nokia camera [Nokia Lumia 1020] helps you capture the moment, which is the most important thing.”

Mr Weber said: “I don’t do digital and this is the first time I have really gone out in the world and done like a digital sitting. I was impressed with the resolution and the beauty of the colour.”

The London exhibition, entitled “Weber X Bailey by Nokia Lumia 1020” will run until 21 September and is free to members of the public.

With 41 megapixels, ZEISS optics, and optimised image stabilization - the Nokia Lumia 1020 establishes a new benchmark in smartphone imaging. It simplifies the controls previously reserved for professionals, and reinvents zoom to help people capture, edit and share better photos with ease.

“The photos from Weber and Bailey’s shoot are dazzling”, said Mark Newton, VP, Nokia Brand and Marketing Creative, Nokia. “They are a reflection of Weber and Bailey’s mastery of the art of photography, but also represent a hugely symbolic moment in the development of smartphone imaging. The Nokia Lumia 1020 empowers people to take better pictures.”

Weber and Bailey spent 24 hours in Harlem in July on a quest to capture the heart and soul of New York’s vibrant community.  It was the first time the life-long friends had worked together on a project.

GREY GOOSE Vodka Hosts The Official Launch Of GREY GOOSE Le Melon

GREY GOOSE Vodka Hosts The Official Launch Of GREY GOOSE Le Melon

On Friday evening, GREY GOOSE Vodka hosted a celebration for the launch of its newest flavor, GREY GOOSE Le Melon, at the Manhattan Cocktail Classic.  Hosted beneath the iconic soaring dome of the Celeste Bartos Forum at the New York Public Library, invited guests came together for a legendary evening of incognito revelry at  Le Bal Masqué (a themed masquerade ball). Cocktails featuring the fresh new flavor were in high demand, as thirsty guests eagerly entered the room. The ornate sprawling bars that flanked the mirrored dance floor were decked out in royal style, complete with crystal candelabras, bowls overflowing with fresh fruit and Cavaillon melons, and French favorites like Croque Monsieurs and crepes. Glass flutes hanging by delicate orange ribbons were snipped from the ceiling for guests requesting a GREY GOOSE Le Melon Fizz and other signature cocktails were offered as well, including the Bayonne Old Fashioned, Cavaillon Manhattan, Classic Martini, and the decided favorite, GREY GOOSE Le Melon Mule.

Following a set by the internationally renowned DJ MICK, the evening featured a special live performance by GRAMMY Award winning recording artist, Big Boi.  Just before getting on stage, Big Boi exclaimed his excitement about being back in front of the fans, and especially about his summer tour dates and upcoming solo album.

One half of the legendary hip-hip duo, Outkast, Big Boi brought the crowd to its feet with fan favorites like “Back of the Bus,” “Shutterbug,” and “The Whole World." Big Boi put on a passionate, energetic performance, shattering any notion that the summer tour would will be anything short of amazing, and leaving onlookers clamoring for more. DJ Questlove was spotted backstage jamming out to Big Boi’s set, before taking the stage himself, and spinning a lively set that included music by his own band, The Roots, and remixes of other crowd-pleasers like JT’s “Sexy Back” and  JAY Z’s “On to the Next One.”  The energy in the room was palpable, as party guests danced the night away until the lights came on -- a fitting celebration to officially introduce consumers to GREY GOOSE Le Melon.

Additional notables in attendance included Kehinde Wiley (Artist), Chef Roble Ali, Melyssa Ford (model), Andre King, Geoffrey Fletcher, Legendary Damon, Laura Stylez (Hot 97) and more.
