With the Nokia Lumia 1020, “you’ve got it”. That’s the verdict of David Bailey and Bruce Weber, two of the world’s best-known photographers, who used the 41 megapixel Nokia Lumia 1020 in a unique collaboration to capture the spirit and soul of Harlem, New York.
Nokia has today released nearly 60 photos from the pair’s photoshoot in Harlem, which demonstrates that the Nokia Lumia 1020 is the perfect camera to help people capture the moment in unrivalled detail, and with ease.
The stunning photos are available to view at The Nokia Photography Room and are currently being exhibited at the Nicholls & Clarke Building in Shoreditch, East London. A video featuring Mr Weber and Mr Bailey on the shoot will be shown at the exhibition.
Mr Bailey said: “The Nokia camera [Nokia Lumia 1020] helps you capture the moment, which is the most important thing.”
Mr Weber said: “I don’t do digital and this is the first time I have really gone out in the world and done like a digital sitting. I was impressed with the resolution and the beauty of the colour.”
The London exhibition, entitled “Weber X Bailey by Nokia Lumia 1020” will run until 21 September and is free to members of the public.
With 41 megapixels, ZEISS optics, and optimised image stabilization - the Nokia Lumia 1020 establishes a new benchmark in smartphone imaging. It simplifies the controls previously reserved for professionals, and reinvents zoom to help people capture, edit and share better photos with ease.
“The photos from Weber and Bailey’s shoot are dazzling”, said Mark Newton, VP, Nokia Brand and Marketing Creative, Nokia. “They are a reflection of Weber and Bailey’s mastery of the art of photography, but also represent a hugely symbolic moment in the development of smartphone imaging. The Nokia Lumia 1020 empowers people to take better pictures.”
Weber and Bailey spent 24 hours in Harlem in July on a quest to capture the heart and soul of New York’s vibrant community. It was the first time the life-long friends had worked together on a project.
