Earnest Sewn to Launch a Limited Edition "Golden Ticket" Jean- The “Newport”

Earnest Sewn to Launch a Limited Edition "Golden Ticket" Jean- The “Newport”

NEW YORK- September 29, 2011- Earnest Sewn will launch a Limited Edition "Golden Ticket" jean in conjunction with the opening of the Fashion Island Store in Newport Beach tomorrow. The jean, called the “Newport,” will be a sophisticated over dye black micro flare jean, the first of its style for Earnest Sewn. It will be the debut of Earnest Sewn’s “Golden Ticket” capsule collection that uses 24K gold buttons, rivets and a gold foil screen print. This jean will be made in a limited edition of 50pcs at $198 each, specifically for the store launch on September 30th .
The "Golden Ticket" concept is something Smith plans to introduce going forward starting with the “Newport” jean. The concept is based on Earnest Sewn delivering one specific jean each season using this hardware as a specialty item for a luxury market. This concept was introduced in Earnest Sewn’s first ever season: one jean in every cut of 1000pcs was snuck in with gold hardware and Smith has now evolved this idea by designing a limited edition “Golden Ticket” jean every season. Smith says, “The ‘Newport’ jean will be the first “Golden Ticket” jean and will be the launch of an Earnest Sewn micro flare. I think it’s the perfect jean for the Fashion Island customer and should be a great launch of this new fit. I’m excited to bring something new to the market with the added value of the “Golden Ticket” packaging."

As the new Creative Director for Earnest Sewn, Benjamin Talley Smith’s initiative is to develop and grow Earnest Sewn women’s collection with improved fit and innovative washes while spearheading collaborations, similar to the current design partnership with Lacoste. His perfect understanding of the brand’s heritage will contribute to cultivating Earnest Sewn’s strong lifestyle identity. His overwhelming commitment to product quality will remain true to the pride in workmanship as well as authenticity. Smith’s first complete collection will be Fall 2012.

Founded in 2004, the Earnest Sewn Co is a privately held company. Established as one of the finest denim and lifestyle luxury brands, Earnest Sewn designs and manufactures its iconic denim in Los Angeles, CA and wholesales and retails premium denim and sportswear for men, women and kids globally through corporate retail stores, National Department Stores and key specialty accounts in the USA, Canada, UK, Japan and Australia; http://www.earnestsewn.com/.

Earnest Sewn To Open Its Second West Coast Store in Newport Beach, California’s Fashion Island

LOS ANGELES- August 31, 2011- Following the continued success of the brands concept/lifestyle flagship store in New York’s Meatpacking district, Lower East side and Malibu, CA locations, The Earnest Sewn Co. is opening its 4th corporate retail location as part of their overall retail expansion plan.

The second West Coast store will open in Newport Beach, California’s ‘Fashion Island’ on October 1st 2011. Fashion Island is a key luxury shopping destination for fashion savvy residents and its many business driven neighbors located throughout Newport Beach, CA. To celebrate the opening, Earnest Sewn will be throwing a VIP kick-off party Friday, September 30th from 7-10pm with catering by Nirvana Grille, Cocktails, and live DJ. Earnest Sewn will also be offering 25% off all merchandise.

Located at 1075 Newport Center Dr. the free standing store will encompass a complete interior redesign, remaining true to the company’s American heritage store concept while allowing for the space to represent the California lifestyle. The store’s interior, much like the other three locations will have genuine industrial fixtures and artifacts from the early 1900s, as well as introduce a few distinctly ‘New York City’ design concepts into the eclectic mix of architectural styles currently featured in Fashion Island. It is an ideal location for the brand to continue to build their West coast visibility and cater to much of its existing clientele.

The 2,200 sq foot store will showcase the Earnest Sewn denim and sportswear collection for men, women and kids as well as key vendors that carry the lifestyle tradition from accessories and footwear to home accents and pet accessories.

Earnest Sewn is planning to continue its retail concept store expansion by adding an additional 10-15 stores in key cities around the world over the next 24 months.

Savers Budget Friendly Fall Fashion Tips

With fall comes change. The leaves transform into those iconic reds and yellows; the weather begins to cool, and with the change in season come warmer looks for fall fashion. Whether shoppers are trying to transform all of their outfits like the seasons, or if they just need some fresh back-to-school looks, there’s no need to break the bank at big department stores.

Believe it or not, the most popular looks this season can be brought to life by shopping secondhand, and Savers thrift stores (www.savers.com) offer one-of-a-kind pieces at affordable prices.

Many of this year’s fall trends are a fresh take on iconic fashions making the fall styles of 2011 ideal for thrifting.  For example, classic pleats and plaids are in – as well as exotic animal prints and saturated jewel tones.  Whether it’s for the campus, the classroom or for a corporate office Savers can help shoppers be fashion forward without over spending – something that remains crucial to consumers in today’s economic climate.  Additionally, Savers will be celebrating its annual Labor Day Sale on September 5, with 50% off all clothing, shoes and accessories.

Consumer Savings Expert: Andrea Woroch 6 RETAIL 2011 TRENDS

1. Daily Deals
With the explosion of limited-time daily deals via group-buying (more than 23 million in the last year) and flash-sale sites like Gilt Group & Jetsetter.com, it's no surprise other retailers have adopted this successful sales strategy. In fact, online retailers like Target & Overstock now offer Deal-of-the-Day sales that bode well for sales. Even Facebook and Amazon have added daily deal services.

2. Name Your Own Price
Gap has recently taken the daily deal concept a step further with the launch of its new Gap My Price program, which allows customers to bid for clothing and accessories. The process is the same as with Priceline, which targets cost-conscious travelers: You extend a sales offer for a particular item; Gap then makes a final offer you can either accept or reject.

3. Free Shipping
Originating in Australia, retailers are talking about charging shoppers for use of their changing rooms. The move is designed to prevent consumers from trying items in-store, then buying them online at a discount price. Fortunately, retailers have shifted marketing efforts to target online shoppers by creating a more accessible e-shopping experience and offering free shipping both ways as well as site to store free shipping. Online stores like Zappos & Piperlime now offer free shipping both ways and merchants like Walmart and REI offer site to store free shipping. Discover more merchants that offer free shipping both ways from this article on LearnVest.

4. Body Scanners In Malls
We're not talking about security scanners here, but rather a system that helps you deal with manufacturer's increasingly different sizing charts. MyBestFit addresses this problem with mall kiosks offering free 20-second, full-body scans. Here's how it works: You step fully dressed into a 380-degree booth and a wand rotates around you, emitting low-power radio waves that record roughly 200,000 body measurements to assess areas like bicep circumference. The system then matches these measurements to sizes in its database for roughly 50 stores, including Talbots, Old Navy and Eddie Bauer. It sure beats trying on five different sizes of jeans and (shudder) bathing suits.

5. Mobile Sales, Coupons and Instant Deals
The busier we become, the more we rely on our smartphones to shop, compare prices and look for deals while on-the-go. Retailers have cottoned onto this need as a new opportunity for capturing and engaging customers. For example, the CouponSherpa iPhone app allows shoppers to research mobile coupons for specific items, then use those same coupons at checkout. Foursquare has become increasingly popular as a way for retailers and restaurants to provide special offers when you "check in." For example, Ann Taylor in NYC may provide a 15-percent off deal on full-priced merchandise for a shopper who has used Foursquare to check in. Amazon's iPhone App allows you to scan a bar code or take a photo of a product seen while window shopping and, at the your later convenience, purchase that item with just one click.

6. Social Media Sales
As Gen Xers move into their peak spending years and become entranced by social-media shopping, more retailers are jumping on the bandwagon to engage their customers via Twitter and Facebook. In fact, the Facebook store, referred to as "F-Commerce," is an increasingly popular outlet for retailers to target such social-media shoppers.
Also known as social shopping, the process allows consumers and retailers to aggregate and share information in real time about special offers, products, prices and purchases. The big advantage to consumers is they needn't leave a social-media site to shop and can immediately share their purchase with friends and other fans. This helps reduce the solitary feeling of online shopping. Via social media, merchants also provide information about special offers and, increasingly, coupon codes and downloadable coupons.

Sugar & Bruno Partners with Top Dance Celebrities for Street Wear Line

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEMay 2, 2011

Sugar and Bruno Partners with Top Dance Celebrities to Expand
to Fashion and Teen Street Wear Markets
The Dance Inspired Clothing Brand Expands with its 2011 Spring/Summer Collections

(May 2, 2011) Indianapolis, IN –  Sugar and Bruno, best known among the dance community for its “street” inspired dance clothing line, recently expanded with its 2011 Spring/Summer collection and the addition of several fashion forward street wear pieces.  Several of the fashion pieces were designed by their partner celebrities from the dance world: Chelsie Hightower (Dancing With the Stars), Stacey Tookey (Judge and Emmy Nominated Choreographer, So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD)), Keltie Colleen (Former Rockette, author, also known for her turn on The Bachelor), film and television actress Mollee Gray (Runner up, SYTYCD),Kent Boyd (Runner up, SYTYCD), and more.

“At first, we noticed dancers modifying their existing wardrobes to create their own unique look at practice and in performances,” said Steve Powers, COO of Sugar and Bruno, “They’d wear baggy jeans with burn out tees, and cut them up – whatever it took to make them stand out, and make the clothes functional for dance.”

Sugar and Bruno set out initially to meet the demands of dancers.  Powers continued, “Try as we did to meet their needs – and we did that with some great success - we also started seeing non-dancers wearing and purchasing the clothes.  With this year’s line, we took those trends into consideration, without compromising the functionality and freedom of movement built into each piece.”

Dance apparel has evolved over the years, due most recently to its rise in popularity in feature films (Burlesque, Black Swan, the Step Up trilogy), reality television (Dancing with the Stars, America’s Best Dance Crew, So You Think You Can Dance), television shows like ‘Glee,’ music videos and viral videos on YouTube.  The rise in popularity among mainstream audiences of dance and the clothes its stars were wearing helped Sugar and Bruno facilitate the shift from strictly “dance” to fashion forward attire.

The line, which hit retail in February 2011, caters to both performance and style, making it one of the world’s most sought-after brands in the youth fashion and lifestyle marketplace.
